Founder's Personal Story

My career began as an engineer at Lockheed, stationed at Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas. I later moved to the Bay Area, where I've been involved with multiple tech startups for over two decades. Currently, I am a staff software engineer at a promising AI/Robotics startup.
In 2017, I relocated from the Bay Area to Santa Rosa just as the devastating North Bay Fires struck. I had to evacuate with just a few belongings. A month later, the full impact of the fires on the community became clear. Despite the generous donations, many were left in need of emotional support and healing. With my own startup on the verge of launch, I decided to pause it to focus on helping the community instead.
I founded a small-scale community center, Sonoma Rebound, and recruited healthcare and other professionals to volunteer their services. We organized free health fairs, operated free clothing stores in partnership with grassroots nonprofits, and hosted engaging activities like yoga classes.

Providing aid to fire victims was a profound experience that led to personal growth. It taught me a big lesson: always be true to yourself, overcome social pressure, and do the right thing. Often, the significance of local communities is underestimated, which is why I chose to become a social entrepreneur.
In January 2024, the IMF published an article titled 'AI and the Future of Work', predicting that 40% of the global workforce will be impacted by AI, potentially exacerbating income and wealth inequality, particularly affecting older workers who might not only lose their jobs but become unemployable.
My perspective on AI and the future of work contrasts with the common narrative. I believe that with the right intent, AI can empower individuals to become their own bosses. I view older workers not as vulnerable but as seasoned managers. This belief led me to create Yume, our AI Agent, to illustrate how AI can facilitate this empowerment, as detailed on our main webpage.
